Support and promote the purposes, principles, and programs of the UN System 

Update, advise, and assist retirees and those about to separate from service on matters of pensions, medical benefits, and other concerns 

Represent the interests of members and their dependents/survivors, through FAFICS, before the relevant bodies of the UN on matters related to pension, after service health coverage, and emergency assistance

Foster social and personal relationships among members, to promote their well-being and mutual support

Provide opportunities for members’ engagement and support to community outreach and activities

Inspired by the values and principles of the UN and enriched by members’ experiences in the service of the UN, AFICS is an association committed to promoting the well-being of former UN civil servants and fostering their social engagement.

The association which began as an informal network of Filipino UN retirees in early 2003 was formally organized into the Association of Former International Civil Servants (AFICS) in 2008.

In July 2009, AFICS Philippines was officially accepted as a full member of the Federation of Associations of Former International Civil Servants (FAFICS) during its 38th Council Session in Vienna, Austria.

In 2021, AFICS Philippines became a registered non-profit corporation with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

AFICS Philippines is led by a dedicated Board of Trustees that ensures the association remains active, responsive, and true to its mission. The Board is supported by an Executive Committee which is composed of seven different committees. They are also guided by a Senior Advisory Group. Together, they offer members meaningful opportunities to contribute their expertise, shape programs, and strengthen our community.
